Managing Director of Urban Investments

Marcus Jackson is the Managing Director of Urban Investments for TradeMark Properties. He possesses 25 years of commercial real estate experience with large-scale investors including officer level tenures with Equitable Real Estate (acquired by Lend Lease), Highwoods Properties (a NYSE traded REIT) and Carter, one of the South’s oldest and largest privately held commercial real estate firms.

Prior to joining the TradeMark Properties team, Marcus served as the Managing Director of Investments at Colliers International/AACRE Properties.

Marcus brings a unique perspective to investment services given his past ownership experience, where he has been P&L accountable for the entire life cycle of investments from acquisition to asset management and development to disposition.

Over the span of his career he has delivered an impeccable financial performance track record for pension funds and public and private investors. Marcus’ primary sector experience is in office, dense residential (including multi-family) and mixed-use.  Most of the real estate assets have been located in Vibrant Centers (live-work-play) in the Research Triangle, Atlanta, South Florida, Richmond and the DC area.

Marcus recently was appointed and serves as the Chair of Mission Advancement (Advisory Board Chair) by Urban Land Institute in the Triangle.

Marcus received a BS Marketing degree from Virginia Tech and a MBA in Marketing and IT from the University of Georgia.

  • Accountable for portfolios as large as $900M and transaction volume exceeding $400M
  • Accountable for development of over 2M SF
  • Repositioned numerous existing buildings & high profile land assets, which has yielded over $200M in disposition, renovation & development volume
