Knightdale’s Wil Mar Golf Club Property Sold for Master-Planned Development
TradeMark Properties Facilitates Sale of Property
The property that Knightdale’s Wil Mar Golf Club sits on will be taking on a new life as a master-planned development. The 150-acre tract of land is located at 2300 Old Milburnie Road and has been in the Allen family for three generations[RM1] . TradeMark Properties Chief Executive Officer Jim Harris and Vice President Mike Keen represented the Allen family in the sale of the property to Maryland-based Natelli Communities.
Under the Allen family’s ownership, the land, which was first a farm, became a golf course in 1961. Last year marked its 60th anniversary.
“This deal is bittersweet because it is more than family land,” said Harris. “Wil Mar has been a wonderful community treasure in bringing the joy of golf to so many. At this point though, the timing was right for the family and the community to bring the land to its highest and best use. TradeMark Properties is happy for the Allen family, Natelli Communities, and the Town of Knightdale.”
Natelli Communities will be delivering a master-planned development with townhomes, single-family and estate homes along with several parks and walking trails. Construction is expected to begin this summer on what will be the company’s flagship project in North Carolina.
HPW Commercial represented the Natelli Communities in purchasing the property.
