National hard surface flooring retailer Floor & Decor will soon be occupying the former Dick’s Sporting Goods space at 816 South College Road in Wilmington. The 51,270 square foot free-standing building sits on 4.12 acres on one of the city’s premier retail corridors and major thoroughfares. The building came available when Dick’s relocated to Independence Mall. TradeMark Properties Senior Vice President Brian Grabowski represented property owner Winwil Realty in the long-term lease.
“With this property’s high-traffic location, we had tons of interest in this space,” said Grabowski. “We worked with many prospects that wanted to take a third or two thirds of the building but ultimately, we decided on this full building user. It’s a great placement for Floor & Decor given the proximity to other home improvement retailers as well as furniture stores.”
Floor & Decor is headquartered in Atlanta and operates large warehouse-format stores across 31 states. Both homeowners and professional contractors have access to the store’s selection at warehouse prices.
Renovations of the space have begun, and Floor & Decor is expected to open this summer.
